💗 Cardiology Specialist

She graduated with high honors from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara in 2001. In 2000, she completed her elective internship as a research fellow under Prof. Dr. Carlos Perez, a world-renowned leader in the field, at Washington University Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Department of Radiation Oncology, supported by a scholarship. In 2001, she was accepted into the Cardiology Department of Dokuz Eylül University with outstanding academic success.

During her residency training, she worked as a research fellow at St George’s Hospital in London under the supervision of Prof. Dr. George Sutherland, who is regarded as the founder of strain and strain rate echocardiographic assessment, in order to further develop her expertise in strain echocardiography and advanced echocardiographic techniques. After this period, which she considers a turning point in her professional career, she dedicated herself particularly to advanced echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and valvular heart diseases.

At Dokuz Eylül University, she served as a sub-investigator in multicenter international clinical trials such as ASSENT IV, ACTIVE A, and ACTIVE I. During this period and following her specialty training, she took part as a researcher and coordinator in numerous national scientific studies.

In 2006, she successfully passed the cardiology board examination and began her compulsory service at Elazığ Training and Research Hospital. In the same year, she passed both the written and oral examinations conducted for the first time by the Turkish Society of Cardiology with high scores and earned the Cardiology Board Certification.

Between 2006 and 2010, while continuing her compulsory service at Elazığ Training and Research Hospital, she was part of the pioneering cardiology team that established the hospital’s invasive cardiology unit and performed the first coronary angiography in the catheterization laboratory. In 2006, her oral presentation was selected among the best by the Turkish Society of Cardiology and was presented as an oral presentation at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress held in the Czech Republic in the same year.

In 2010, after successfully passing the written and oral examinations organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, she started working as a senior cardiology specialist at Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Hospital. In the same year, she was selected to represent the Turkish Society of Cardiology in the “Future Leaders in Cardiology” group of the European Society of Cardiology.

In 2013 and again in 2018, she worked as a research fellow at the University of Padua in Italy within the team of Prof. Dr. Luigi Badano, a leading authority in Europe in the field of three-dimensional and advanced echocardiography, where she completed advanced training programs.

She served as an instructor and organized numerous national courses on three-dimensional echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography. At the Cardiology Department of Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, she became one of the most experienced physicians in the Southern Marmara region in intraoperative and transesophageal echocardiography, providing extensive in-service training and mentoring to young cardiologists.

In 2016, she earned the title of Associate Professor of Cardiology after successfully completing written and oral examinations. She actively served as an instructor in projects jointly conducted by the Ministry of Health and the European Union and participated in numerous public health education initiatives.

She has held various positions, including Vice President, within the Cardiovascular Academy Association and currently continues to serve as a board member. She also co-chairs the Cardiovascular Academy Working Groups composed of young cardiologists and serves as the editor of the KVAK Bulletin, which summarizes newly published scientific articles. As a physician with a strong passion for learning and teaching, she actively participates in the organizing committees of many cardiology congresses.

Since 2021, she has been providing full-time services at her private cardiology practice. She is also involved in the planning and presentation of the television program “Rehberim Doktor” on Bursa AS TV.
